Associate Professor Gabrielle Russell is Academic Director at the National Centre for Cultural Competence at the University of Sydney, Australia. She leads the Centre’s work in progressing a deeper understanding of the theory and practice of cultural competence and has been instrumental in developing effective resources and research to cultivate cultural competence at the individual and organisational levels. Gabrielle Russell’s research is multi-disciplinary and explores cultural competence as it intersects with cultural studies, Indigenous methodologies, Indigenous studies, health and social and emotional wellbeing, cultural studies, Whiteness, critical race theory as well as leadership and organisational change. Her research builds understanding of cultural competence in higher education and other sectors.
