Microcredential
The University of Sydney's micro-credentials are specialised, university-level certifications that assess your expertise in a specific area. Each course is developed by our subject experts, is taught at a postgraduate level and is tailored to meet current and future industry requirements. We support you to acquire specific knowledge, skills, and capabilities related to a particular professional skill. You will benefit from our extensive knowledge gained through research partnerships with government and industry, our high-quality teachers and educational methods and our course design that can be delivered through face-to-face, online, or hybrid classes.
Depending on the course, modules can be taken in intensive mode or over a more extended period, and you have the flexibility to choose your commitment level and the schedule that suits you. Microcredentials are designed to fit around your work and life, supporting you as you continuously improve, whether to advance in your current career, acquire new skills, or change your career path. Upon completion, you will receive a Digital Badge and Certificate of Completion, adding value to your CV and LinkedIn profile.
Short courses
The University of Sydney offers short courses that provide practical, industry-relevant skills and knowledge, whether it's for hard or soft skills. These are designed to support career advancement, whether you're aiming for a promotion, need to stay updated on new technology or techniques, or want to fill in skill gaps. The courses are structured to help you achieve specific learning goals and are delivered by subject matter experts within hours or days. There are no formal assessments, but you'll have the opportunity to ask questions and practice to ensure you've understood the content. Short courses can be taken face-to-face, online, or in a hybrid format, and are offered throughout the ear and at different levels to suit your specific needs. Based on your skill level, you may wish to take one or multiple levels to improve your proficiency. Upon completion of each course, you will receive a Statement of Completion based on your attendance.
Bridging courses
Bridging courses are short educational programs specifically designed by the University of Sydney academics to help you acquire the assumed knowledge or foundational skills required for a particular course or subject.
These courses are typically offered to students who may not have the necessary prerequisites for their desired program of study. The aim of a bridging course is to prepare you for successful participation in your intended course by covering essential concepts and skills.
MOOCs
The University of Sydney’s Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are delivered online through the Coursera platform. These courses introduce various topics, allowing you to learn key principles and determine if you want to pursue further studies in that area.
A University of Sydney MOOC typically takes up to three hours to complete, is self-paced, and is delivered entirely online. You can access the course materials at no cost, and have the option to upgrade to complete assessments and earn a certificate of completion.

We can deliver courses on campus, in your workplace, or in external locations. Courses are available face-to-face, online, or in a hybrid format and can be flexible to your needs from 2 hour, half day or full day workshops or customised for your organisation. Classes can be conducted anywhere in Australia. All participants receive a Statement of Completion.
