Maximilian von Schwerin is an ESG and procurement specialist with extensive experience leading complex supply chain, sustainability, and risk-governed sourcing initiatives across Australia, the Asia-Pacific, and East Africa. With a background spanning government disaster response, humanitarian logistics, multimillion-dollar procurement programs, and modern slavery risk assessment, Max brings a practical, systems-focused approach to building resilient and responsible supply chains.

As an ESG Lead, he focuses on integrating sustainability, risk mitigation, and whole-of-life value into organisational decision-making. Alongside his work in industry, Max is a Sessional Academic bringing real-world expertise to postgraduate units on sustainable procurement, humanitarian logistics, and supply chain disruption at the University of Sydney Business School. He is passionate about leveraging AI and data analytics to not only strengthen sustainable practices in procurement and supply chain management, but also to navigate the nuances of last-mile logistics and solve the challenges of disrupted supply chains in complex environments.
